Name: Gina Elward

Character: Reno Sweeney

Performer Bio: My role in ‘Anything Goes’ is Reno Sweeney. As Well as this, I am also helping with some of the choreography alongside Miss Hawkins and Daisy Irwin. I have really enjoyed working with All the cast and crew involved with the show and it has been such a fun experience. My favourite number in the show is ‘Your the top’! Although it’s very tiring, it is such a fun number and I also love the choreography. I am currently auditioning for Theatre schools in London to hopefully study Musical Theatre when I leave school this year.

Name: Fraser Dart

Character: Billy Crocker

Performer bio: I have been performing in Ringwood School productions since Miss Saigon when I was in year 8. I have loved being a part of the shows every year, and have been lucky enough to play roles such as Electra, Tony Elliot, Gaston and now Billy Crocker this year. My favourite part of the show is probably Youre the Top at the start of Act One - I’m very excited for the shows in February.

Character bio: My name is Billy Crocker, my boss, Eli Whitney, is boarding the SS American and sailing to London. A few months ago, I met a girl named Hope Harcourt and fell in love, I am still desperately trying to find her to tell her how much I love her.

Name: Abbie Hudson

Character: Hope Harcourt

Performer Bio: I think my favourite song is Public Enemy Number One as it’s not well recognised however it sounds lovely with all the cast together. I always enjoy working with the cast and crew as we all get on so well, and as it is our last year it has been lovely doing the show with them all. Compared to Belle last year, Hope shares similar qualities and different challenges but she is great to play and I have lover exploring her as a character this year.

Name: Elfie Cheetham

Character: Evangeline Hardcourt

Performer bio: My favourite number is Bon Voyage because it’s the main opening number where the audience see full cast characterisation as we set sail for England.

My commitment for Evangeline is interesting because she is a complex character who has different personas. For example, she needs to be a strict mother, a prestigious public figure, and maintain an over-protected relationship with her dog.

I like working with everyone as they all bring something new to their part. I also like working with Gina Edward and Abbie Hudson.

Character bio: My daughter, Hope Harcourt, is the soon to be wife of Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. I am thoroughly delighted for them both and cannot wait to continue living with them. I want this trip to be perfect for Hope and Evelyn as they are getting married on the ship. It is not my first cruise as my late husband use to travel a lot and we would be in first class. This is my little Cheeky’s first ever major journey, so I hope she doesn’t get ill or worse, jump overboard!

Name: Joe Manzi

Character: Purser

Performer bio: Possibly my favourite number in Anything Goes is ‘There’ll always be a Lady Fair’ as it is the sailors main song. It involves a lot of jazzy and contemporary dancing and in the rehearsals it has been extremely fun to get it going and to spend a lot of time with the fellow sailors as they’re absolutely brilliant and hilarious. The whole show has been quite a challenge as, not only is it my second ever show at Ringwood, but seeing as I am a supporting role I have lines to learn and have been needed at more rehearsals than last year which has been both an honour and a challenge but one that I have enjoyed nonetheless. I enjoy all the rehearsals whether it be with Mr or Miss Hawkins as they are both capable of having a laugh and a joke with the students but at the same time they know exactly when we need to knuckle down.

Character bio: The Purser is quite a scaredy-cat of a character. He loves the Captain and getting attention from him when he does something right and he craves female attention which very often results in him getting extremely nervous around the more seductive characters like Reno and Erma. He always demands that he needs people looking at him and listening to what he is saying as he desperately tries to command and be a towering presence which pretty much always results in him being either ignored or secretly made fun of by the sailors and Captain.

Name: Craig Newton

Character: Evelyn Oakleigh

Performer bio: My favourite song is Gypsy in Me due to the fun had in rehearsals devising it.

Character bio: I am travelling back to England to marry my darling Miss Hope Harcourt.

The Crew

Crew - Students

Name: Charlie Atkinson

Role: Deputy Stage Manager

Bio: During the show, I call the cast to stage, manage everything in the wings e.g. set, cuing lighting and sound. I enjoy being heavily involved with the show and organising the departments in preparation for the show. I mainly enjoy working with the set as it is the department that most effects the events of the wings. I chose this role because I wanted to be more involved in the backstage process of the show.

Name: Lucy Stevens/ Pratt

Role: Production Management

Bio: I am the Production Manager for Anything Goes. I am in charge of making sure everything is as organised as possible, the attendance at rehearsals is tracked as well as making sure the full crew knows what everyone is doing. I work closely with the Director/ Choreographer, Helen Hawkins, so we can agree on deadlines and she can communicate to the rest of the crew and the cast if I cannot. I chose this role as I wanted to be able to be connected to the full company. I love going to the rehearsals and seeing the performing side but I also like to see every aspect of the process. I think my favorite character from Anything Goes is Reno because she is over the top and a strong female character.

Lighting:

Jordan steeds (Head of Department)

Toby Riding

Chris Ash

Name: Jordan Steeds

Role: Head of Lighting

Bio: Being the head of the lighting department, I’m essentially responsible for lighting up your night. I chose this role so I can sit at the back of the hall and watch the show for free. Haha. If I had to give some advice to someone wanting to learn lighting I’d say life is for the living, if you’re not living, you’re dead.

“It’s always darkest before they turn on the lights”

Fraser Dart (Head of Department)

Finn Rowden

Matt Taylor

Name: Fraser Dart

Role: Head of Sound

Bio: As head of sound, it is essentially my responsibility to organise anything that is heard by the audience. From the micing of principal cast, to the micing of the band, to sound effects or the programming of samples on keyboards. I also have a team who I work closely with to achieve all this. Much of our work is affected by other departments such as costume, lighting and props, and so we are also in constant communication with these departments in order to create the best show possible.

Anna Yeadon

Name: Amy Hill

Role: head of costume

Bio: I work with the other people in my team to source costumes for the cast from local theatre companies, online and from shops, and managing and keeping up maintenance of the costumes during the show as well as helping actors with quick costume changes in the wings if they need it.

I enjoy show week the best, being backstage with the cast and crew and the atmosphere it brings

I chose this role because I have a knowledge and interest in textiles and fashion already.

Name: Bethany Wilkinson

Role: Hair and Make-up Department

Bio: I research styles appropriate for the time period and help make decisions on the final choices for the show. I work with Molly in hair and makeup and Lucy to get all my information organised and communicated because she is like the secret engine to the entire production! I chose Hair and Make-Up as my department as I have had a sincere interest in this field for a long time, and I already had some experience with vintage styles which I felt would be helpful for Anything Goes.

Documentary:

Max Cheshire

Harvey Pounds

Name: Max Cheshire

Role: Documentary Team

Bio: Turning up to every rehearsal to film and capture the moments of enjoyment as well as hard work. The end goal is to produce a professional documentary that allows cast, crew and audience members to look back on this 6 month period. After seeing the fantastic reception on last years documentary, I wants to take on the role of leading the process behind it. Adding an element of behind the scenes that we did not see with last years. Working closely with Harvey is great as he too is a creative individual, it means that we can share ideas with one another and find new ways to document the production process. A lot of my close Friends are in the cast and production team, so working alongside them is great as we all get on and our able to get the job done whilst having fun.

Name: Harvey Pounds

Role: Documentary Team

Bio: I record the Pre-Production process and everything that happens in show week ready to be edited for the video. I enjoy working with Max as he is a very impressive individual, from his amazing camera work and editing to his genuine passion for the role. I chose this role because out of all the different roles I feel the documentary team best suited me. My favorite character is Billy because Fraser Dart and my favorite number is Blow Gabriel Blow.
